Join us at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts as we celebrate twenty years of arts, culture, education, and diversity. The BCPA is the heart of Bowie’s flourishing arts community and is our destination for music, comedy, and theatre. Whether we are supporting Prince George’s County Public Schools or our Community Partners, our mission remains the same: We are an all-encompassing multidisciplinary arts facility serving you. We are here so that all may enjoy.
Hosted by Bowie’s own comedy legend, Joe Clair (Fox 5 DMV Zone, 96.3 WHUR Nina and Joe Afternoon Show), the event features performances by Tracy Hamlin and Talein Harris (Atlantic Star), as well as youth performances by Bowie High School drama and choral departments and local dance studio Center Stage Academy for the Arts. Delicious heavy hors d’oeuvres will be provided by Chef Kakes (winner of Food Network’s Chopped!) and her Conflicted Pig catering service. Please note that no alcohol will be served at this event.
Supported in large part by our Mayor Timothy J. Adams, our 20th Anniversary Gala will be a momentous evening of reflection, celebration, food, music, raffles, and community.
All proceeds are set aside into our Capital Campaign fund with the purpose of modernizing our facility. Our campaign is geared to raise funds for the following projects:
- A digital marquee that wraps around the front of the building (facing route 450)
- First floor bathroom renovations
- New carpet in the main hall
- Updated LED lighting equipment
