Step back in time to Victorian London for one of the world’s most beloved stories, told with music, magic, humor, and heart in this acclaimed adaptation at the Bowie Center for the Performing Arts. Follow London’s most notorious miser, Ebenezer Scrooge, as he journeys through time with a host of spirits to re-discover his own humanity — and the spirit of the holidays.

Christopher Dwyer (Narrator, Director/Producer) wears many hats at the BCPA, including serving as Executive Director. Presenting A Christmas Carol as an annual community tradition has long been his dream, and he is thrilled to see the production enter its third year. Chris is the former Founding Artistic Director of Prince George’s Shakespeare in the Parks and previously served as Head of Drama at St. Vincent Pallotti High School. A former member of Actors’ Equity Association, he has performed on stages up and down the East Coast. He is proud to call Bowie home and to champion its Performing Arts Center. Chris is also a father of two and is especially delighted to share the stage this year with his daughter, Natalie. He gives heartfelt thanks to his wife for her patience, support, and willingness to endure the long hours required to produce, direct, and perform in A Christmas Carol.

Gary DuBreuil (Ebenezer Scrooge) is happy to be returning to the BCPA! He has performed the role of Scrooge in the BCPA’s A CHRISTMAS CAROL since its inaugural production in 2023, and he directed THE SEASIDE ADVENTURES OF ZOEY BRINE, a series of short musicals for families, at the BCPA in 2022. Other recent DMV credits include: The Keegan Theatre: NOISES OFF (Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Ensemble), PUSH THE BUTTON, HANDS ON A HARDBODY, and others; Chesapeake Shakespeare Company: A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM and JULIUS CAESAR; ArtsCentric: MA RAINEY'S BLACK BOTTOM; Taffety Punk Theatre Company: CYRANO; Adventure Theatre-MTC: KEN LUDWIG'S 'TWAS THE NIGHT BEFORE CHRISTMAS; and many more across the region. He is a proud graduate of Saint Michael's College in Vermont and the Shakespeare Program at the British American Drama Academy in London, and a resident of Bowie! www.garydubreuil.com

Marcus Wilder (Bob Cratchit) is happy to be returning to this production and with this talented cast. He was last seen as (Delta nu/ Grandmaster Chad) In Legally Blonde: The Musical and as (Jack) in Into the woods, both with 2nd Star Productions. He is also the Acting instructor for Broadway Bound Summer Camp, he recently Directed Disney’s Alice In Wonderland Jr. Marcus is a proud Alumni of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA). Sydney Dionne (she/her) (Mrs. Cratchit/Community Chorus Assistant Director) is elated to return to the BCPA stage in this festive production! Previous BCPA credits include The Seaside Adventures of Zoey Brine (Ranger Dale). Most recently, she has performed with Rorschach Theatre: So Late Into The Night (Claire); Sleeping Giant (The Naïf); Night of the Living Dead (Judy); Sometimes the Rain, Sometimes The Sea (Raincloud); Theatre Alliance: TransAtlantic Time Traveling Company (Swing, u/s Ruth); Imagination Stage: A Year With Frog and Toad (Lady Bird, Young Frog); Constellation Theatre: Once On This Island (Erzulie); Next Stop Theatre Company: 46 Plays for First Ladies; Lucky Stiff (Dominique du Monaco). She is extremely grateful to her family and friends who provide her with endless support!

Ryan New (he/they) (Fred/Community Chorus Director) is excited to be joining the BCPA in this production and to work with this amazing cast. He was recently seen as Phoebus in Hunchback of Notre Dame, Moose in Crazy for You, Tiny Tom in Urinetown, Fred Gailey in Miracle on 34th Street, and Lancelot in Camelot. He is also the Music Instructor for Broadway Bound Summer Camp, as well as Co-Director and Music Director for Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Jr., both at the BCPA. In addition to his role as Fred, he was given his first opportunity to Choir Direct with Bowie’s Community Chorus, and is eternally grateful to the Chorus members for their patience and commitment. He’d like to thank his family, friends, both old and new, and Community Chorus for their support.

Matthew Pauli (he/him) is an actor, clown, and puppeteer. In the DC area, he has performed with Faction of Fools, Constellation Theatre, Imaginations Stage, The Shakespeare Theatre, and Everyman Theatre in Baltimore, among others. He is also one of the founders of Clown Cabaret, a performance laboratory for developing clown work. He toured for six seasons with Big Apple Circus and proudly works with Healthy Humor, Inc, performing clown rounds at Johns Hopkins Hospital and National Children’s Medical Center. He is a graduate Georgetown University, as well as the Ringling Bros. and Barnum and Bailey Clown College, and has an MFA from the Shakespeare Theatre Academy for Classical Acting at the George Washington University.

Briana Manente (she/her) (Ghost of Christmas Past, Mrs. Dilber) is returning to BCPA’s production of A Christmas Carol for her third year. She has been a performer, production manager, educator and arts administrator across the DMV for the past decade. She holds an MFA from The Catholic University of America and dual BAs in Theater, Film, and Media Studies and Psychology from St. Mary’s College of Maryland. She is endlessly passionate about using theater and the arts to inspire, uplift, and connect communities.

Lisa Hill-Corley (Fezziwig, Fred’s Wife, Violin) is a Washington DC area actor and writer who is pleased to make her BCPA Christmas Carol debut! She has appeared in over 50 shows throughout the region. Her acting credits include POTUS (Margaret) for Next Stop Theatre, Scorched (Nawal 2) for ExPats Theatre, The Nacirema Society... (Grace Dunbar) for The Little Theatre of Alexandria, Having Our Say (Sadie) for Creative Cauldron, Antigone in Antigone Reflected for Capital Fringe Festival, and History is 2020 (Mistress Quickly, Duchess of York, Worcester, Queen of France) with Brave Spirits Theatre.

Jacob Werner (Young Scrooge, Businessman, Butcher) is a senior Theatre, Film, and Television major at Catholic University. He is excited to reprise his roles as Young Scrooge, Butcher, and bed mover. This year, he is also taking on the role of a Businessman. This year at CUA he was a player in “Sense and Austensibility”, a Jane Austen Improv show, and Love’s Labour’s Lost (Dumain/Costard).

Julia Kelley (Young Lady) is an opera singer and performer from the DMV area. She has a Bachelor of Vocal Performance from the Rome School of Music, Drama and Art at Catholic University in Washington DC and a Master of Vocal Performance from the Ohio University School of Music in Athens Ohio. Along with performing she works at Georgetown University Office of the Registrar and is a Graduation/Portrait Photographer in the are. She thanks everyone involved in the performance including the cast, crew and directors!

Bryan Hargraves (Old Joe, Ensemble) is very excited to mark his second year in BCPA’s A Christmas Carol as Old Joe. Last year, he played Fred and ensemble, and has previously participated in MNCPPC Shakespeare in the Park Summer Series such as As You Like It, Much Ado About Nothing, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream. He has also been in several shows with 2 nd Star Productions at Bowie Playhouse as Max Detweiler in The Sound of Music, Tom Snout in Something Rotten, the Escapologist and Rudolpho in Matilda, Hot Blades Harry in Urinetown, ensemble in Dreamgirls, Joey in Sister Act, and, most recently, ensemble in Legally Blonde. He is incredibly grateful for his family, friends, and former teachers for their love and support.
