The Bowie Center for the Performing Arts came to live through a partnership between Prince George's County Public Schools, M-NCPPC, and the City of Bowie. Through this partnership the Center rose from the ground to become the professional grade theater it is today.

Currently, the Center is owned by Prince George' County Public Schools and all staff must go through background checks and hiring approval through PGCPS Human Resources.

M-NCPPC supported the Center by supporting the funding to originally to build it. The City of Bowie contributes yearly to the general operating fund for the Center. PGCPS is currently the main financial supporter of the Center.

The Center itself, while owned by PGCPS, operates as it own agent when it comes to rentals, producing partnerships, and outreach. The staff comes from various professional backgrounds in front of house management, technical theater, and production.

The Center goes above and beyond just being a house to rent to stage productions, artists receptions, and other limited events. At the Center we are constantly developing producing partnerships and methods for artists to workshop their new works through our Recital Hall In Development Workshop Series. Never hesitate to contact the CENTER to see how you can get involved and showcase your performing or visual art work.

The Ballet Theater of Maryland presents two main stage productions at the Center.
This year they will be presenting The Nutcracker Thanksgiving weekend and
